Pirelli title sponsor of the Spanish and Hungarian Grand Prix
Title sponsor-less in 2013, the Spanish and Hungarian Grand Prix see the name Pirelli appear in their official designation for the 2014 season.
In addition to its role as the exclusive manufacturer for Formula 1, which allows it to display its logo during the Grand Prix throughout the season, Pirelli has decided to become more involved this season by becoming the title sponsor of two races scheduled on the 2014 calendar.
The Italian brand will be the title sponsor of the Spanish Grand Prix – officially named Formula 1 Gran Premio de Espana Pirelli. The Iberian round did not have a title sponsor last year in 2013, whereas in 2011 and 2012 the event’s partner was the Spanish bank Santander.
The other Grand Prix where Pirelli will appear is the Hungarian one – officially named Formula 1 Pirelli Magyar Nagydij. Like the Spanish Grand Prix, the Hungarian round did not have a title sponsor last season following the withdrawal of Eni, who held this role in previous years.
Even if things have not yet been officially announced by Pirelli, the official Formula 1 website already presents these changes for the 2014 calendar.
