Saturday: Disappointment at Marussia who expects a tight race
Visible disappointment in the Russian camp, after qualifying both Marussia drivers are in 20th and 22nd and failed to get ahead of Kobayashi's Caterham. Tomorrow's race promises to be very competitive at the back of the grid.
Jules Bianchi (No.17) – 17th and 20th
The French driver was eliminated in Q1 and regrets not being able to place his Marussia ahead of Kobayashi’s Caterham: « The car’s balance was pretty good today. We lost time on the straights, about 0.3s, which I think could have put us ahead of Kobayashi’s Caterham. This is something we need to analyze to get back ahead of the Caterhams. We hope to make up some ground tomorrow, but it will be difficult. »
Max Chilton (No. 4) – 22nd and 22nd
Disappointment for the young British driver who finishes Q1 in last position, yet there is still a glimmer of hope for tomorrow’s race: I’m a bit disappointed after this qualifying session, I thought we had made enough progress to get closer to Q2. When everything works correctly, we’re not that far off and if you look back, we’ve made progress. We didn’t achieve what we wanted today but that being said, I think we’ll show better things tomorrow.
