Thursday: Bianchi satisfied, Chilton delayed at Marussia
Jules Bianchi expressed satisfaction with the Marussia MR03 that he was able to drive during the first day of testing in Monaco. Max Chilton had a harder time than his teammate during the start of the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1.
Jules Bianchi (No. 17) – 19th and 18th
The Frenchman is satisfied with this first day even though it could have been better: « It was really pleasant to have a performing car here after good tests in Barcelona last week. We don’t have all the expected data at this point in the weekend, but I think our base is strong. Clearly the weather was a factor for everyone today but there is room for improvement and I am confident we will make progress on Saturday. »
Max Chilton (No. 4) – 22nd and 19th
The day was more complicated for his British teammate who did not gain as much track time as hoped: « It was a difficult start to my Monaco weekend, particularly with the time lost during FP1 this morning. We hoped to make up for the lost time this afternoon, but the weather intervened and when we started our dry running program, of course everyone was taking advantage of the improving conditions, so traffic was a factor. »
