Saturday: Toro Rosso places Vergne and Kvyat in the top 10

Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 9th and 7th

The native of Pontoise is very happy with this top 10 result, not only for himself but also for his team.

He shares his session: My last run with the super-soft tires was affected by the yellow flags but the first one was enough to secure seventh place, which is quite a good position to start the race tomorrow. If we put everything in place, I am confident that we can finish in the points with both cars. I will definitely push to at least maintain my seventh place until the checkered flag.

Daniil Kvyat (No. 26) – 10th and 9th

The young Russian, for whom this is the first Grand Prix in the Principality, experienced a particularly eventful qualifying session. He explains: « In Q1, I suddenly lost the rear and hit the wall, so I had to return to the pits to change the nose of the car. […] Unfortunately, Q3 was a bit unlucky because I couldn’t manage to do a clean lap after going out on used super-softs. When I went out for my last fast lap, I had to stop because of the yellow flag. »

Frustrated by this lack of success, he remains optimistic and will aim for points in the race.
