Sunday: Caterham on the verge of points, beaten by Marussia
Caterham's best historical result - 11th place - had a somewhat bitter taste since the Malaysian team was beaten by the Marussia team, its historic rival.
Kamui Kobayashi (No. 10) – 13th
After the race, the Japanese driver was upset with Jules Bianchi for an overtaking maneuver he considered too aggressive: « Although I finished 13th, I am not that happy because I am sure I would have finished in the points if Bianchi hadn’t hit me when he overtook me forcefully. The car was impossible to drive after that, so just finishing is a good result. The team did everything they could to help us finish as high as possible today—a good strategy and good pit stops, but when you get overtaken by being pushed off the track, it’s obviously not good. »
Marcus Ericsson (No. 9) – 11th
Although he achieved the best result for his team, the Swedish driver, overtaken by Jules Bianchi’s Marussia, is disappointed on a team level. He explains: « For me it was good, even though the whole team is obviously disappointed with how it ended. It was an incredible experience to finish my first Monaco Grand Prix and it was great to match the team’s best result today, it’s just a shame that it doesn’t mean more after everyone’s fantastic work today. »
