Sunday: Massa climbs back into the points for Williams

If Valtteri Bottas seemed well on his way to scoring points in Monaco, a problem with his power unit prevented him. It was ultimately Felipe Massa, who made a great comeback, that allowed the Grove team to score points in the Principality.

Sunday: Massa climbs back into the points for Williams

Felipe Massa (No.19) – 7th

After an unlucky qualifying due to contact with Marcus Ericsson, Felipe Massa had a great race thanks to taking risks and finished in the points: « I am very happy to finish 7th after starting 16th on the grid. I took some risks when I changed the strategy when the safety car came out, and I had to make the tires last, which worked. I took advantage of every opportunity with the mistakes or retirements of others. A lot could have happened, so I am delighted that it went well. A difficult weekend that turned out positive in the end. »

Valtteri Bottas (No. 77) – Retirement

The Finn saw his race come to an end due to an issue with his Mercedes power unit: « We had a problem with the power unit which is frustrating. There is an ongoing analysis to see what really happened. After the start, I quickly found myself in the points so it could have been a good weekend. »

But Bottas remains optimistic and hopes to do better in the next race: “We will focus on Canada where we hope to be strong given the nature of the circuit.”
