Sunday: Fifth consecutive one-two finish for Mercedes drivers

After a race where Rosberg and Hamilton didn't give an inch, it's the former who claims victory. The Englishman narrowly beats Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull for another one-two finish on a circuit less favorable to Mercedes.

Sunday: Fifth consecutive one-two finish for Mercedes drivers

Nico Rosberg (No. 6) – Winner

After a race he considers difficult, the German ends Lewis Hamilton’s winning streak. He recounts his Grand Prix: « The race started well and I was comfortable but then I had to manage fuel consumption and Lewis was really pushing hard behind me. We were able to control the fuel after several laps of “Lift and coast” [releasing the accelerator instead of braking, ed.]. It was important for me to interrupt Lewis’s four-race winning streak this weekend. »

Lewis Hamilton (No. 44) – 2nd

The English world champion felt in good shape today and is pleased with a new Mercedes double even though he couldn’t continue his winning streak. He says: « It’s so difficult to overtake on this circuit. I was following Nico as closely as possible and had an excellent pace but just couldn’t overtake. Towards the end, I got a bit of dust in my eye through the visor which made things complicated for a few laps but fortunately, it cleared up and I was able to keep Daniel behind me and secure second place. »
