Sunday: Alonso just off the podium and Räikkönen unlucky for Ferrari

Fernando Alonso (#14) – 4th

The Bull of Asturias considers it a good result and that the cars ahead of him were impossible to catch. He says: « At the start, something in the engine wasn’t working, but even if I had full power, there wasn’t the space to overtake. »

He believes that the Scuderia is improving little by little: « Of course, the gap with the leaders is still significant, because just like us, they continue to move forward on the development front. Therefore, we are forced to always try to do better, starting from the next race in Canada. »

Kimi Räikkönen (No. 7) – 12th

The Flying Finn, who for once had a performant car and was in third place after the start, fell victim to a race he considers very unlucky. He states: « Unfortunately, under the safety car regime, the car was hit by Chilton’s Marussia, and I had to make an unexpected stop as my right rear tire was damaged, which ended my chances of achieving a good result. »

He thinks, however, that the hard work done by the entire team is going in the right direction and that the results should soon follow with a bit of luck.
