Forza Rossa would join Formula 1 in 2015

It was expected that a twelfth team would join F1 in 2015, but Gene Haas preferred to delay his entry until 2016. Adam Cooper writes on his blog that it could therefore be the Forza Rossa team that may be present on the circuits in 2015, a project set up by Ion Bazac, the official Ferrari importer in Romania.

The Romanian team would be led by Colin Kolles, former director of HRT, the Spanish team that ceased operations after the 2012 season due to a lack of buyers and sufficient funds. Kolles has facilities in Germany that would allow the development of the Romanian single-seaters.

Regarding the powertrain, two options are mentioned. The first suggests that Ferrari would be the

More likely given Bazac’s ties with the Maranello firm. The second solution would be a Renault engine, as the subsidiary of the French manufacturer Dacia would be among the Romanian investors in Forza Rossa.

All this information is still to be considered conditional, but confirmation should arrive within a few weeks.
