Sunday: No result for Caterham

Kamui Kobayashi (No. 10) – Retirement:

The Grand Prix started off rather well for the Japanese driver, but everything quickly went downhill for him and his car: « My start was correct and I managed to avoid all the debris from the two Marussia cars’ accident on the first lap. Tire management under the safety car was quite good as well, but a few laps after it came in, I felt a problem at the rear as I exited the second corner and had to stop the car. When I got out, I took a look and saw that it was a rear suspension problem. »

Kobayashi remains optimistic for the rest of the season: « It was quite difficult in Canada, but we will continue to fight. Our day will come, I am pretty sure about that. »

Marcus Ericsson (No. 9) – Retirement

The Swede continues his Formula 1 learning experience in pain, with an early retirement: « A disappointing end to a difficult weekend. But for me, it’s part of the learning curve. As soon as the formation lap started, I could feel that the power unit had a problem, which continued under the safety car regime. The team tried to fix it, but there was nothing we could do, and as soon as the safety car came in, it was the end of the race. »
