Sunday: Sutil finally sees the finish as Gutierrez retires at Sauber

Adrian Sutil (No. 99) – 13th:

The German driver is quite happy to finish the race after a series of retirements in recent weeks: « It was a long race with a lot of incidents. We managed to stay out of all that from start to finish, so it’s a good team performance and I’m very happy about it. »

But 13th place is far from satisfying Sutil, who expects better for the upcoming races: « I am also satisfied with my own performance, but still, all this only leads to a 13th position, which we have to accept at this point. At least, we gave it our all today. »

Esteban Gutierrez (#21) – Retirement:

A difficult race marked by a retirement for the Mexican struggling with tire issues: « It was a very difficult race, especially at the beginning. I was struggling so much with the tires that it was hard to manage them and drive. I regularly fought with cars, but it was extremely difficult to keep them behind. »

The race ultimately ended in a retirement for the Sauber driver: « When I refueled, I had a new set of soft tires, which I had to keep until the end. Thanks to this second set of soft tires, the car was much better, I even enjoyed driving. But we lost power and I had to retire. »
