Friday: Vergne and Kvyat hope for better for Toro Rosso
The small Scuderia is bringing a lot of new parts to Austria. Despite a result at the edge of the top 10, the drivers believe they can do better on Saturday.
Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 10th and 10th
The Parisian is happy with the behavior of his F1: « I think it was a positive Friday. […] We brought a lot of new parts and updates here in Austria, which means we had a lot of things to try and understand today. I have to say it looks good. I think we have a good margin of progression for free practice 3 and especially for tomorrow’s qualifying. »
Daniil Kvyat (No. 26) – 12th and 12th
The Russian rookie really likes the Austrian track: « I really enjoyed driving on this track today, it’s definitely among my favorites on the calendar, with heavy braking, some medium or high speed corners that are fun. »
About his day, he is a bit more mixed: « I was hoping for a better pace here but on the positive side, I’m sure there is still plenty of room for improvement. We had a good program today, so I’m confident we can be strong for the rest of the weekend. »
