Friday: Vettel and Ricciardo on an upward curve at Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel (No. 1) – 15th and 6th

Like his teammate, Baby Schumi experienced an improvement in the afternoon compared to the morning. He states: « We saw everyone struggling to make the soft tires, the hardest tire, work, but this should change tomorrow as it will be a bit warmer. I think everyone is hoping for a great weekend, but we are not the favorites this weekend, we would love to be, but we are not quite there yet. »

The world champion said he was particularly motivated to race this Grand Prix at home for Red Bull.

Daniel Ricciardo (No. 3) – 13th and 8th

The recent winner of the Canadian Grand Prix believes he learned a lot today: « We arrived this morning with some ideas and a few worked, others didn’t, as always on a Friday, it’s never really a perfect Friday. »

Then he improved a lot between the two free practice sessions. He explains: « We still have a lot of work to do, but yes, we collected enough information tonight to make progress for tomorrow. I don’t think we’re as fast as the Mercs, it’s not really what we expected, but hopefully we can be the best of the rest again. »
