Sunday: Lotus F1 struggles, Grosjean and Maldonado look for positives

Romain Grosjean (no. 8) – 14th

The Franco-Swiss had a difficult afternoon with various problems in addition to the lack of performance of his car. He recounts the race: « We stopped very early to put on soft tires, but unfortunately, we fell victim to graining, which complicated everything until the end of the race. Looking back, the team has always managed a great comeback. We’re starting from far back this time, but I know we’ll work hard and do everything to achieve our goal. »

Pastor Maldonado (No.13) – 12th

Unlike his teammate, the Venezuelan driver is quite satisfied with this weekend where he maximized his package. He explains where he thinks the team can gain time: « We lose a lot of time in the slow corners, and we need to work in this area to get closer to our performance in the fast corners. Unfortunately, we had some brake issues very early in the race, so I couldn’t fight with those around me, even though it was good to be able to run in the top 10 during the race. After that, it was about saving fuel and preserving the tires until the checkered flag. »
