Saturday: At Caterham F1, Ericsson and Kobayashi record the slowest times

Marcus Ericsson (#9) – 16th and 21st

The young Swede went out on rain tires in FP3 but, like most of the competitors, spent the majority of the time waiting in his garage.

In Q1, he went out on medium tires but a mistake in the second sector while he was pushing meant he only finished 21st. He hopes the weather conditions will be similar for the race: « Tomorrow, it seems that the conditions will be similar to today’s and that could give us opportunities, especially with the cars around us on the grid since I’m sure they will all attack very hard from the start. »

Kamui Kobayashi (No. 10) – 18th and 22nd

After completing a few laps on intermediate tires on a wet track in Free Practice 3, the Japanese driver was quite satisfied with his car except for a traction issue.

In Q1, the track was dry enough to go out on medium tires, but a problem with the car prevented him from doing better than last place. He expresses his dismay: « It’s obviously a shame because today, it was one of those sessions where we could have had at least one of the two cars in Q2. »
