Friday: At Lotus, Grosjean and Maldonado are looking for suspension settings

Romain Grosjean (#8) – 17th and 17th

The Franco-Swiss didn’t have an easy day with a car that is still underperforming. Then he had a scare: «

I had a small incident this morning when the DRS didn’t close at turn #2 – I can tell you that it was a very peculiar feeling! The guys did a good job fixing the rear wing, and we were able to continue the session.

He thinks the Lotus E22 isn’t that bad: The car wasn’t too difficult to drive today, but it’s about unlocking the pace with the different suspension setups. Everyone is working hard and with a bit of luck, we’ll have more understanding and pace tomorrow.

Pastor Maldonado (no.13) – 18th and 16th

The Venezuelan driver’s Friday was comparable to that of his teammate with many suspension settings to test.

He explains: « We have devoted much of our track time to evaluating the car’s behavior with this new configuration. We have room for tomorrow. The conditions were extremely hot today, and anything can happen over the weekend. We are just keeping a calm approach to ensure we get 100% out of the car. »
