Saturday: Alonso only 7th, Räikkönen fails in Q2 for Ferrari
Scuderia Ferrari is still in turmoil. Fernando Alonso is only 7th on the grid for the German F1 Grand Prix. As for Kimi Räikkönen, struggling with his tires, he can't get out of Q2.
Fernando Alonso (No. 14) – 3rd and 7th
Without being satisfied with a seventh place on the grid, the Spaniard sees reasons for hope in the better sensations with his F14-T. Then, he considers what will happen tomorrow: « I suppose that during the race we will suffer more because of tire degradation. With such high temperatures, the rear tires slide a lot, and the right number of pit stops will be very important. The weather forecasts are not clear on whether rain will fall during or after the race, so we need to show anticipation skills if we want to be in the game. »

The Finn continues a difficult season by saying he has spent more time in the garage than usual, even though his sensations in the car have improved.
It was in Q2, when he fitted his second set of super-soft tires, that things got complicated. He stated: « My car started to slide everywhere and I lost the rear in turn 2. After that, it was impossible to do a good lap. »
