Bianchi tempers the rumors but calls on Ferrari F1

Since the beginning of the season, Kimi Räikkönen has been struggling to truly adapt to the new regulations and his new F14-T. The Finn has even announced that he might retire at the end of 2015.

It didn’t take much more to ignite rumors about an early arrival of Jules Bianchi at Ferrari. The driver from the Ferrari Driver Academy has been demonstrating qualities since the beginning of 2013 that seem to excite observers of the discipline. He also scored his first points this year in Monaco.

However, he prefers to calm things down by stating to Crash.net: « They [Ferrari, ed.] have contracts with both drivers for next year and I don’t think they’re going to change that ». He adds: « What I need to do is continue focusing on my work with Marussia and do my best. »

However, the driver from Nice would like to regularly fight in the top 10, but he is confident that Marussia is making enough progress to offer him this opportunity.

He indirectly puts pressure on Ferrari by stating: « I want to be in a team where I can fight for points, it could be here [at Marussia] because if some people invest in this team, then we can definitely do much better and be faster. We are doing an excellent job with what we have at the moment, but with more money, we can be more competitive. »

He concluded by putting the ball back in his employer’s court: “I am a Ferrari driver, so it is in their interest to put me in a better position.”
