Bottas and Massa Confident Ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix

After nearly a month-long break, the grand F1 circus sets its bags this weekend in Belgium on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The Williams driver duo believes that the Ardennes track should favor the FW36 in a way that allows them to kick off the second part of the season at full throttle.

Valtteri Bottas, who achieved his first three podiums this year in Austria, Great Britain, and Germany, explains that it is very enjoyable to drive on this high-speed circuit: « It’s very hilly, and the high-speed corners of Spa-Francorchamps make it a real pleasure to drive, especially in an F1. Due to the long straights and variable weather conditions, races can be very interesting for the driver and the fans. To be competitive, you need a car with efficient aerodynamics, so we hope to be strong and aim for a good result. »

For his part, Felipe Massa already won here in 2008 and echoes his teammate’s statements: « The long straights should suit our car, and we can start the second half of the season successfully. I won here in 2008, so I know what it takes to win. I had a very pleasant summer break, but I am ready to race again. Great circuits await us, and I hope we will continue to develop our car as in the first half of the season and remain close to the front. »

The Belgian Grand Prix will be available to follow from Friday on Motors Inside.
