Friday: Force India making progress, Pérez and Hülkenberg aiming for big points
After a smooth Friday, Force India drivers hope for a good end to the weekend. They aim for a top 10 in qualifying to score big points on Sunday.
Nico Hülkenberg (No. 27) – 8th and 10th
Efficiency was the watchword for the German today. According to him, conditions will be crucial in the qualifications.
He describes a smoothly managed Friday:
« Today was a solid day and we accomplished what we expected from our program, which is a great way to start the weekend. Fortunately, the weather was stable and dry, and we were able to use our time in the most effective way. The car had a good level of performance right from the start of the day and we gathered a lot of useful data. Tomorrow, it will be interesting to see the weather conditions – the weather can change very quickly here so you can’t really rely on forecasts. »
Sergio Pérez (no. 11) – 6th and 13th
The native of Guadalajara also had a good day.
About his trials, he states: « We learned a lot about the tires and the balance [of the car]. The pace of the long runs seems good so I think we can look forward to a promising weekend. Hopefully, we will be in the top 10 tomorrow, which would put us in an excellent position to score big points on Sunday. »
