Sunday: Kobayashi and Caterham F1 ahead of Marussia
For the first time in a long while, Caterham manages to finish ahead of its Russian rival in the Grand Prix. A happy Kamui Kobayashi finishes ahead of Jules Bianchi. Marcus Ericsson, who started from the pits, finishes 19th.
Kamui Kobayashi (No. 10) – 17th
The Japanese driver is very happy with his race: « We finished ahead of Marussia which is a good result for us. The new developments introduced are working well and we are definitely improving. Monza is a unique track, so we’ll see where we stand on the other circuits but I’m happy with our result – the team worked very hard and did a great job, it was a very consistent weekend. »
Marcus Ericsson (No. 9) – 20th
After leaving the pit lane following a penalty, the Swede believes he couldn’t have done better: « I think it was a decent race. I didn’t make any mistakes and was very consistent with my lap times. Unfortunately, the pace wasn’t there to finish higher in the standings, but I feel like I did everything I could today. Now, we just have to keep working hard and prepare for the upcoming races. »
