Hackett joins Williams
Williams has just announced an agreement with the clothing brand Hackett. It's not the first time this brand will be present in F1.
For almost ten years, fans of the 24 Hours of Le Mans have been accustomed to seeing the British clothing brand Hackett, as it is one of the main sponsors of Aston Martin.
But the brand has already ventured into the world of F1 as it was one of the first sponsors of the team that was then called Lotus before becoming Caterham.
This time she takes another leap by partnering with a team that finished third in the constructors’ championship and aims even higher for the upcoming season. Jeremy Hackett, the brand’s founder, stated: « Motorsport has been part of Hackett’s DNA for several years now. The prospect of working with one of the giants of F1 gives me chills. The Martini Racing stripes have always been recognized as a symbol of prestige and luxury. It seemed natural to us for Hackett to dress the team for the next season. »
The brand will have a two-tier exposure: its logo will be present on the front wing of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas, and the brand will also supply all the clothing and luggage used by the entire team staff during each of their trips.
Hackett has therefore managed to achieve greater visibility compared to Dom Reilly, who was the previous luggage supplier for Williams. But this agreement was signed in 2013 when the team was performing poorly. And the CEO was the former marketing director of the team, which suggests a mutually agreeable deal for both parties.
In the space of a year and a half, things have indeed changed significantly, and it has been decided to move upmarket.
