Caterham F1 Team was created in 2009. The team participated for the first time in the F1 World Championship under the name Lotus Racing in 2010, then took the name Team Lotus in 2011, before finally becoming Caterham F1 Team in 2012 following trademark issues with the car manufacturer Lotus.
Accustomed to the back of the grid, the team largely funded by Malaysian Airlines has never made a lasting impression. In /f1/actualite/19179-marussia-f1-les-biens-de-lecurie-vendus-aux-encheres.html, bankrupt, the team entered into liquidation. Absent from the United States and then the Brazil Grand Prix, the green single-seaters will appear for the last time during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – the last race of the season.
At the beginning of the month, we announced the auction of the team in several batches.
The auction finally started on Wednesday through the company Wyles Hardy & Co. As readers of Motors Inside, you might be interested in owning a piece of the team. The auction is available here: https://www.wyleshardy.com/caterhamf1/.
The auctioning of an entire team is quite rare – except in these complicated times for Formula 1… Indeed, most of the time in case of bankruptcy, the team’s assets are bought by a new owner. The most recent case was Marussia last December.
It’s an opportunity to get great deals, like this set of Pirelli tires for 60 Pounds Sterling or these two Caterham rims for 150 £.
The carbon shells of the single-seaters are also for sale like this version <a href="https://whitelabel.globalauctionplatform.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/Caterham/catalogue-id-caterham10000/lot-6c846867-9816-420d-ae0b-a44300e74937?clienturl=caterham" target="_blank" title="">/f1/actualite/19179-marussia-f1-les-biens-de-lecurie-vendus-aux-encheres.html with the Renault engine name emblazoned on a black background</a> for 1000 Pounds.

Other steering wheels, storage boxes, air guns, and various mechanical accessories are also for sale.
This first round of auctions will take place until March 11. The auctions will then continue gradually with other lots.
As a reminder, nine teams are registered for the world championship /f1/actualite/19413-les-biens-de-caterham-f1-mis-aux-encheres.html after Marussia went into administration and <a href="/f1/actualite/19179-marussia-f1-les-biens-de-lecurie-vendus-aux-encheres.html" target="_blank" title="">also had its assets auctioned off last December</a>.
