Interproteccion stays with Sauber
All of Sauber's Mexican sponsors did not leave at the same time as Esteban Gutierrez. Thus, Interproteccion is continuing its partnership with the Swiss team but with much less visibility.
If the Mexican company Interprotecction arrived as a sponsor of Sauber in 2010, its visibility has continued to diminish over the years. Its logo initially stood out on the side of the rear wing, before moving last year to the inside of the same wing, offering less visibility. This year, it will be even more difficult to identify the insurance firm as it will now be represented on the top of the seatbelts of Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr.
The insurer is therefore the only Mexican sponsor to have decided to stay with Sauber despite Esteban Gutierrez’s departure. It certainly wanted to continue being associated with F1 as the sport returns to Mexico after more than two decades of absence from the calendar.
The CEO of the company thus stated: « It is exciting to continue our partnership with this great team in the year Formula 1 returns to Mexico City after a 23-year absence. The association with Sauber demonstrates Interprotecction’s desire to continue building its international business base using Formula 1’s unique global platform. »
