Lotus goes into Mad Max mode in Barcelona
To celebrate the release of the new Mad Max installment, Lotus will be adorned with the film's colors at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.
This is not the first association between Lotus and a film since the same kind of operations were conducted during the Silverstone event in 2012 when the Lotus cars sported the logo of the latest Batman, The Dark Knight Rises.
The reason for this new agreement is that the production house for these two films is the same, namely Warner Bros. Pictures. Con Gornell, the vice president in charge of marketing in Europe for the American group, thus stated: « Powerful cars and high speeds are part of Mad Max’s DNA. The Lotus F1 Team Mad Max Hybrid embodies this mindset. We are thrilled to work with Lotus to bring a bit of Wasteland to the Spanish Grand Prix. »
This time, the two partners have indeed taken the concept of the association even further by creating a single-seater F1 variant in a post-apocalyptic mode, a theme dear to the 1980s film.
