Manor pays tribute to Jules Bianchi in Monaco

Since the beginning of the season, the cars of Will Stevens and Roberto Mehri have been displaying the #JB17 sticker to show that the team members have not forgotten their former driver who continues to fight just a few kilometers from the Principality, at the hospital in Nice.

The feat achieved by the French driver is all the more important for the team as it is what allowed the team to return to the grid, thanks to the funds linked to the ninth place in the Constructors’ Championship, as highlighted by John Booth, the team director: « It’s a special event for everyone but, for our team, it has even more significance because it’s the place of so many celebrations twelve months ago when Jules scored our first points in the Constructors’ Championship. It was an incredible and unforgettable day. Therefore, it is very important for everyone within the team to honor what Jules did for us. It’s a big part of our ability to race today. »

That is why, despite the Suzuka tragedy, the entire team staff has decided to make this weekend a moment of celebration by wearing a bracelet with the inscription “MONACO 2014. P8. #JB17.” The P8 refers to the position achieved on the track before the driver from Nice lost a place due to a penalty imposed at the end of the race. John Booth commented, “Therefore, despite our obvious sadness, this weekend, we will remember and celebrate this significant milestone in the team’s history but, above all, an exceptional performance by Jules.”
