Sergio Perez and Kimi Räikkönen fined!
Sergio Perez and Kimi Räikkönen were guilty of speeding in the pits during the first free practice session. Their teams will therefore have to pay a fine to the FIA.
Just like on the roads, the pit lane is monitored by radars, and the FIA officials are no less strict than those on the side of departmental roads. Thus, the 3.6 km/h speeding violation by Sergio Perez driving his Force India results in a 400€ fine for the team.
For Ferrari, the fine will be slightly less heavy (€300) since Kimi Räikkönen’s speeding was only by 2.5 km/h.
