Esteban Ocon will make his DTM debut with Mercedes
While he is still in the fight for the GP3 title, Esteban Ocon will make a cameo appearance in DTM to replace Daniel Juncadella, who is unwell.
When we met the young Frenchman in the Silverstone paddock, he told us that his priority for the season was to win the GP3 title.
Nevertheless, since his recruitment into the Mercedes young drivers program, he has a dual program as he is also the reserve driver for the German manufacturer in DTM. During competition weekends, he performs demonstration laps and attends all sessions between drivers and engineers.
But for the final in Hockenheim, he will take the wheel of car No. 34 from Daniel Juncadella, who is ill. This will give him a first racing experience in this discipline before he can once again focus on GP3.
