Graeme Lowdon and John Booth are expected to leave Manor
Following a strategic disagreement with their shareholder Stephen Fitzpatrick, Graeme Lowdon and John Booth have reportedly decided to resign and leave Manor at the end of the season.
In the storm that nearly swept Marussia away at the end of last season, Graeme Lowdon and John Booth remained firmly at the helm and tried everything to save what could be saved.
However, it seems that they have now decided to submit their resignation to their shareholder, the wealthy businessman Stephen Fitzpatrick. Indeed, he is said to have refused to open up the team’s capital, which he owns, even though two separate solid offers have been made in recent months. Such an influx of fresh money would have allowed the team to continue its development.
The two men refused to comment on the subject during the Mexico weekend but did affirm that they would still be at their post for the last three weekends of the season. A reversal could only be considered with a complete change in the current shareholder’s stance.
If this is confirmed in the coming weeks, it would be very bad news as they had managed to secure the Mercedes engine, the best on the grid, and have enlisted the consulting services of Bob Bell, who has won numerous titles with Renault and Mercedes.
