Sick and injured, Lewis Hamilton will indeed be at Interlagos

Every race weekend begins with promotional duties for the sponsors of the various teams and drivers. Lewis Hamilton, as the reigning world champion, obviously does not deviate from this rule, which explains why he regularly arrives well before the first laps.

However, this week, he did not participate in the scheduled events for “personal reasons.” After several days of radio silence, the Mercedes driver wanted to clarify the situation through his Instagram profile: « I wasn’t feeling well with a fever but I also had a car accident in Monaco from Monday night to Tuesday. If, in the end, it only concerns me, there are people who know me who will try to take advantage of the situation and make money. There is NO problem. No one was injured, which is the most important thing. But my car is obviously damaged and I had a slight contact with a parked car. »

According to various sources, the road accident is said to have happened around 3:30 a.m. in the streets of Monaco. Nevertheless, this will not prevent him from taking the wheel at the Brazilian Grand Prix: « After discussing it with the team and my doctor, we decided it was best for me to rest at home and only leave a day later. I feel better and am about to board the plane for Brazil. »
