New sponsors for Renault
For the new chapter in its F1 history, Renault can count on several sponsors, including some new to the sport.
Among the expected sponsors, we find Infiniti and Total. The first brand had become evident since it left Red Bull in favor of Tag Heuer as title sponsor. Renault will thus be able to highlight the luxury brand of its partner Nissan on its own team. The presence of Infiniti will not be limited to just a logo on the car since it is planned that the Japanese company will be responsible for the technical development of the next generation of energy recovery systems used by Renault.
Total is also a historic sponsor of Renault in F1, dating back to the association with Elf at the very beginning of the manufacturer’s journey in the discipline. While last year the oil company was only a personal sponsor of Romain Grosjean, it is now returning as a team sponsor, although its presence seems much smaller than in the past or compared to Red Bull.
Two other sponsors have also been renewed. Thus, Microsoft, present in Enstone since 2012, has decided to continue the adventure, providing it with excellent visibility on the outside of the car’s rear wing. As for EMC, it seems that its recent acquisition by Dell has not impacted its communication strategy, as it will also still be involved.
But the commercial team also succeeded in bringing new sponsors into the sport. The first among them is the luxury watch brand Bell & Ross. While this is the first time the French brand is appearing in F1, it aligns well with its positioning towards pilots, whether of planes or cars. It thus replaces its compatriot Richard Mille in this sector, who became a sponsor of Lotus in 2013.
Another French brand has decided to partner with Renault. It is Devialet, which specializes in high-end speakers. However, its presence is limited to the bottom of the radiator of the single-seater.
The two latest sponsors are the Danish clothing brands Jack & Jones and Best Seller, which belong to the same group and are personal sponsors of Kevin Magnussen.
Finally, the Renault single-seaters will still carry the Genii Capital logo since Gérard Lopez remains one of the team’s co-shareholders and one of its directors. The manufacturer thus wants to pay tribute to the businessman: “Genii and Gravity have worked tirelessly to ensure the team’s survival in particularly difficult circumstances. Renault is happy to acknowledge this commitment, and Gérard Lopez remains a non-executive director of the team.”
