Estrella Galicia expands its presence at Toro Rosso
After a year of partnership with Toro Rosso, Estrella Galicia has decided to increase its visibility, which will allow it to be present on the team's cars.
Last season, Estrella Galicia made its appearance in F1 through its existing partnership with Carlos Sainz. This resulted in a presence on the sleeves of both drivers’ suits as well as on the Spanish driver’s helmet.
For 2016, the Spanish non-alcoholic beer brand has decided to increase its visibility by securing a spot on the Toro Rosso cars. Its logo will be visible on the aerodynamic element at the radiator inlets. Ignacio Rivera, the CEO of Hijos de Rivera, commented: “Today is an important day for the company, which we are very proud of, as it represents a significant step in our agreement with Scuderia Toro Rosso and our involvement in F1.”
This agreement is also good news for the team, which almost only has the support of its parent company, Red Bull. Franz Tost, the team principal, therefore stated: « Sponsors are vital not only for the team but also for Formula 1 in general. It is therefore particularly pleasant to strengthen our relationship with Estrella Galicia for a season that promises to be exciting. »
However, this will not be the only change in the team’s portfolio of sponsors. Indeed, following Tag Heuer’s arrival at Red Bull, Casio is now associated with the Faenza team. This is reflected by a significant presence on the shoulder of the suits as well as on the front part of the cars.
On the other hand, the team must deal with the departure of two partners. Nova Chemicals, which normally had one last year on their contract with Toro Rosso, is no longer present at all, even though it had prominent placement on the drivers’ suits and the cars. The same goes for Cepsa, another long-term sponsor of the team.
