Charles Leclerc to drive for Haas

After a season in Formula 3, Charles Leclerc was integrated into the Ferrari Driver Academy. The support he receives from Nicolas Todt also allowed him to join ART Grand Prix in GP3.

His debut in the category has been idyllic since he won his first race and currently leads the championship. The Scuderia has therefore decided to deepen its training program for the year by giving him some driving time in F1. To do this, he completed a run of over 300 kilometers at the wheel of a two-year-old Ferrari.

He will now be able to take the wheel of a current single-seater within Haas. The team has positioned itself as Ferrari’s B-team, which also explains why Esteban Gutierrez has managed to secure a seat this season. However, the Mexican has not been at his best since the start of the season, especially in comparison to the results achieved by Romain Grosjean. That’s why he is the one giving up his seat during the five sessions granted to the Monegasque: « It’s a fantastic opportunity to have time behind the wheel of a Formula 1. I am very grateful to Haas F1 Team and Esteban. »

He will therefore take the wheel during the Friday morning session at Silverstone, in Hungary, in Germany, as well as in Malaysia and during the Abu Dhabi finale. These last two weekends of the season will be quite busy for the young driver as he will be fitting in an F1 session amidst his usual GP3 program.
