Another accident for Romain Grosjean on the streets of Singapore
Romain Grosjean had a very complicated start to the weekend, with the Frenchman going off track for the second time in two days. He will therefore start 15th, just behind his team-mate Esteban Gutierrez.
The first day for Romain Grosjean in Singapore had already been very complicated, with the first session missed due to a technical problem while the second ended with a broken rear wing following contact with the wall.
Unfortunately for the Frenchman, the trend continued this Saturday, with another off-track incident in Q2, interrupting his efforts in Q2. The worst part is that the Haas driver doesn’t understand why he’s so uncomfortable in his car and on this circuit: “I don’t know what’s going on to be honest. Yesterday, we had problems, we struggled. I spun and ended up in the wall yesterday and ended up doing the same thing today. It’s not my driving style, to do that twice in a row in two days. Something is wrong. We really need to find out what it is.”

In his misfortune, Romain Grosjean also indirectly handicapped his teammate since the virtual safety car procedure that was implemented stopped all efforts of his competitors, who were trying to improve in the last minutes of Q2.
Esteban Gutierrez therefore had to settle for 14th place after making it into Q3 at Monza. The Mexican still believed he was capable of repeating the same performance: « The qualifying was very frustrating. It’s a missed opportunity. I was preparing for this lap and I’m convinced that I would have had a chance to fight for Q3 if I could have finished it. We were really unlucky today. »
The two drivers will therefore try to climb up the ranks during the race while the Toro Rosso team seems to be regaining some form on this very peculiar circuit.
