Felipe Massa scores a point for Williams at home

Once again, Felipe Massa’s experience is a lifesaver for Williams. The Brazilian managed to score the point for 10th place in his team’s home race, thus salvaging the situation during another challenging weekend for the Grove team.

The 2008 world vice-champion is still questioning the lack of performance of his car in qualifying: « I’m really happy with the race after starting 14th, having a very good start and a good first lap to finish 10th. Of course, the hardest part of the race was trying to overtake the two Force Indias at the end. I was faster, but maybe not fast enough to have the opportunity to overtake. I’m still not happy with yesterday’s qualifying. When you start the race from so far back, things are much more difficult than they should be. Today, we might have been able to fight for more points. Unfortunately, starting 14th didn’t allow us to do that, but I’m pleased with my race. We just have to make sure our starting position is better in the next race. »

For his part, Lance Stroll would prefer to forget a race that he finished in an anonymous 16th place: “It wasn’t a good race for us. The start was good, and I moved up to 12th place. The first stint was also okay, and then at the beginning of the second stint, things weren’t bad. But we took damage on the car, which I believe was due to a broken bargeboard. I started to think something was wrong, we suspected it was the tires, so I stopped again. I tried to bring the car home, but some damage to the car ruined our race. Now, I’m looking forward to Hungary,” concluded the Canadian.
