Gasly alongside Verstappen for private testing in Hungary
Pierre Gasly has been chosen to support Max Verstappen for the two days of private testing that will take place at the Hungaroring right after the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.
It is only a half-surprise to learn that it is Pierre Gasly who has been selected to participate in the second day of free practice sessions that will take place on the Hungaroring track after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
He will take the place of Max Verstappen, who will drive the day before with a car from the Austrian team. For the Frenchman, this opportunity is crucial in his quest for a seat in 2018 with Toro Rosso, where he believes he still has all his chances, as he recently stated: « The goal for Red Bull, after 4 years of support, is to put me in F1. They know very well that it is my only career objective. For now, we are trying to find the best solution for everyone. Now, the opportunity needs to present itself. Note that Toro Rosso still has not specified which drivers are expected to participate in these two days of testing, which will take place just before the summer break imposed on Formula 1.
