The United States Grand Prix qualifying live

Finished with the Asian tour, the paddock has now turned towards the Americas, with a first stop at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. The stakes are even higher this weekend as it’s the first match point for Lewis Hamilton, who can clinch his fourth title on the Texan circuit.

The championship leader started the weekend ideally by leading the proceedings. He thus secured the absolute circuit record on both Friday and Saturday. He is therefore the favorite to clinch another pole position.

But Sebastian Vettel seems to have regained performance following the change of his chassis after a very complicated Friday as he was within shooting distance during the last free practice session. Their respective teammates, Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Räikkönen, will be keen to play the sheriffs in this duel.

This will not be the case for Max Verstappen, who will incur a 15-place grid penalty due to a once again fragile car. This leaves the field open for Daniel Ricciardo to play the spoiler, while Carlos Sainz seems to be adapting perfectly to his new team as he is already very close to Nico Hülkenberg’s benchmarks.
