A Top 5 finish will be enough for Hamilton to become world champion in Mexico
Lewis Hamilton is getting closer and closer to the world title this year. With a 66-point lead over his closest rival, Sebastian Vettel, the Brit just needs to finish in the top five of the race in Mexico to clinch the title as early as this weekend.
During the last Grand Prix in the United States, the Mercedes team won the Constructors’ title. The Drivers’ Championship could be decided at the Mexican round scheduled for this weekend.
Lewis Hamilton is on the royal road to clinch his fourth world title. Indeed, he will just need to finish in the top 5, without worrying about Sebastian Vettel’s result, to be assured of winning the world crown.
Some other scenarios present themselves for the two drivers. Hamilton will be crowned if:
– il termine dans le Top 9 et que Vettel en fait pas mieux que 2ème.
– il ne marque aucun point et que Vettel ne termine pas mieux que 3ème.
In other words, with his 66-point lead and just three Grand Prix remaining until the end of the season, Lewis Hamilton is confident about securing his fourth world championship, which should not elude him barring any unbelievable turn of events.
