MAPFRE extends its partnership with Renault

The Spanish insurer MAPFRE made a quiet entry into Renault last year. The presence on the car and the racing suits was quite limited (on the nose of the single-seaters and on the sleeves of the suits).

For the second year of the partnership, he decided to change scope by signing up as a major partner of the team for a duration of five years, an eternity on the scale of F1. To underline the strategic importance of the partnership, the CEOs of both companies were mobilized for the signing of the agreement.

Jérôme Stoll, the president of Renault Sport Racing, stated: « Our relationship with MAPFRE has highlighted the reach and potential of F1 and the team, and this long-term partnership represents an opportunity for Groupe Renault and MAPFRE to build new joint projects. We look forward to continuing to progress towards our respective goals over the coming seasons. »

In addition to significant visibility on the cars (on the nose and both sides of the vehicle) and on the drivers (suits and helmets), this strengthened partnership will materialize through the exploration of new mobility solutions and insurance-related services in the future of the automotive industry. Therefore, one can anticipate significant joint efforts concerning the connected and autonomous car, which is currently transforming society.

It is therefore not insignificant that Gianluca De Ficchy, the CEO of RCI Banque, was also present at the signing ceremony. The automotive group’s captive finance company joined as a sponsor of the group’s team during last season to maximize the media impact of the investment made by Renault.
