TIBCO extends its partnership with Mercedes
One year after joining Mercedes, TIBCO has decided to remain with the world championship team, both as a technology provider and sponsor.
At the beginning of last season, Mercedes decided to use the technology developed by TIBCO to help achieve better data visualization in order to make better strategic decisions.
It was announced that this partnership would be extended this season as it is primarily a technical partnership. For both companies to maximize the returns on their investment in a new tool, there must be stability and an association at least in the medium term, especially since this involves a decision-support tool for race strategies.
Toto Wolff, the team principal, explains how the technology from the Palo Alto-based company plays a crucial role for Mercedes: « TIBCO’s sophisticated solutions provide the team with visual data on the car’s performance, allowing them to clearly distinguish what’s important from what isn’t. We are thrilled to extend our partnership and motivated to keep winning in 2018, both on and off the track. »
The visibility of the Californian brand is achieved both through a presence on the chin of pilots’ helmets and on the left sleeve of their suits.
