Charles Leclerc launches his own Karting brand
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc returns to his roots by launching his own karting brand in partnership with Birel Art.
The Ferrari driver had “teased” this launch to his fans on social media, and it was this Wednesday that he announced this news.
After joining Ferrari and securing his first Formula 1 victories, Leclerc is now interested in the next generation of drivers to perhaps find his successor. Like most drivers, the Monegasque began his career in karting in France, as Monaco does not have a karting track, and finished second in the 2013 World Championship, behind a certain Max Verstappen.
« I am very happy to announce that I will now have my own Karting brand. » wrote Leclerc on his Twitter account.
« I started racing 18 years ago dreaming of Formula 1, most of the best moments in motorsport go back to Karting, but it’s also the category in which I learned the most. I really can’t wait to see this beauty on the track.
The kart features a special livery displaying the Monégasque driver’s race number on the tank, as well as his initials on the bodywork.
I’m extremely happy to announce that I’ll now have my own karting brand.
