The sound of the Renault V10 echoed this Friday in Abu Dhabi with Alonso

For the first time since 2006, the Renault R25 roared its V10 with its illustrious world champion, Fernando Alonso, behind the wheel.

Victorious 8 times with Alonso and his teammate Giancarlo Fisichella, the R25 is part of Renault and Formula 1’s heritage. Indeed, it is the car that allowed Renault to clinch its first world constructors’ championship despite all the efforts made in the early 1980s.

Its blue and yellow livery is also iconic, and the Alonso/Schumacher or Alonso/Räikkönen duels are now cited in the legend of the premier category and in the many pages of history books.

It is therefore a privilege for us to be able to once again admire this single-seater and the piercing sound of its naturally aspirated V10.

On the starting straight of Yas Marina, all the mechanics from Renault and the other teams came to watch the R25 in action.

Some drivers, like the young Renault driver Guan Yu Zhou, who grew up with Alonso and Renault’s achievements, were also present to watch the car go by.

The double Spanish world champion thus closes the Renault chapter in the best possible way, with the car of his first title. While waiting to open a new chapter, all dressed in blue, at the wheel of the Alpine.
