Aston Martin drivers more motivated than ever for the 2021 season

On the sidelines of a question-and-answer session, the duo of drivers from the British team opened up ahead of the upcoming season.

Vettel: « I am always hungry for victories and it is the team’s primary ambition. »

Arriving in the off-season after 6 years at Ferrari, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel’s goal is to win races again: “If I’m here, it’s because I’m still hungry for victories, and that’s indeed the team’s main ambition.”

« I aspire to put my experience, accumulated on the racing circuits throughout my career, at the service of the team. It is always exciting to be part of a new team with new people and it is a challenge for me to shorten my integration as much as possible in order to quickly perform on the track,” explains the German driver.

This team has always known how to do its best with few resources, now it is necessary to capitalize on this experience and the addition of new strengths. If we can mix passion and good understanding, we can accomplish great things this season.

« Aston Martin has a special history, and it’s always good to see a big name in motorsport return to F1. By racing for the team, the goal will be to put the brand in the spotlight.

The new car? We still haven’t tried it, we will do it for the first time tomorrow and we will be able to assess the performance after a few weeks of testing. The livery is elegant and for me it is one of the most beautiful cars on the grid and I am looking forward to driving it.

Since the end of last season, which was quite difficult, I am looking forward to this new project and I did what was necessary this winter to recharge my batteries in order to be ready to take on the upcoming challenges this season.

Lance Stroll: « The goal is to aim higher in the constructors’ standings »

His young teammate Lance Stroll also spoke out: “I approach this new season with a lot of confidence, hoping to be able to sublimate the hard work of the people working at the factory.”

On my side, my goal is always to improve. Last year I made it to the podium and I got a pole position, so I would like to continue on this path. As a team, the goal is to do better than last year in the constructors’ standings, where we finished in 3rd place, explains the Canadian.

« The livery is splendid and if it is as fast as it is beautiful, we will achieve great things on the track. I have learned a lot from the mistakes made last year and I would like to take advantage of my two years of experience in this team to have an even stronger third season.
