Already two fines for Ricciardo in Monaco
Two fines of 200 euros for Daniel Ricciardo following two speeding offenses of 1.7 and 1.3 km/h in the pit lane.
The British team McLaren dressed up for this Monaco Grand Prix sporting the Gulf orange and white livery. However, during the first free practice session this Thursday in the principality, Australian driver from the Woking team, Daniel Ricciardo, received two fines for exceeding, twice, the maximum speed limit in the pit lane set at 60 km/h by article 22.10 of the FIA. The Australian driver was penalized for driving at 61.7 km/h in the pit lane for the first time, and then a second time at 61.3 km/h.
As a result, the McLaren team will have to pay two fines of 200 euros. Daniel Ricciardo struggled a bit to get up to speed during this first free practice session, finishing in fifteenth position, one second behind his teammate Lando Norris who secured seventh place.
These speeding fines in the pit lane during Free Practice 1 remind us of the Monaco Grand Prix 2018, where Williams, Renault, Ferrari, Sauber (formerly Alfa Romeo), and Toro Rosso (formerly AlphaTauri) were fined for the same reason in the same free practice session.
