French hopeful Victor Martins tests an F1 for Alpine
The young French Formula 3 driver Victor Martins as well as the entire Alpine Academy conducted tests on Wednesday with the Alpine RS18 (formerly Renault) on the Silverstone circuit.
The French driver Victor Martins, only 19 years old, conducted tests with Alpine at Silverstone on Wednesday, May 26. The young driver has been a member of the Alpine Academy since February 10, 2021, after being excluded from the same program, formerly known as the Renault Sport Academy, in 2019.
This year marks Victor Martins’ big debut in Formula 3 with the MP Motorsports team, alongside Brazilian Caio Collet and Dutch Timjen van der Helm.
The French driver made a good impression during the first round of the F3 season, from May 7th to 9th in Barcelona. The young hopeful scored points in all three races of the weekend, notably finishing second in the second sprint race. His good performances during the Spanish Grand Prix allowed him to take fourth place in the drivers’ championship.
Victor Martins therefore carried out tests at Silverstone, this Wednesday, with the RS18, the Renault single-seater for the 2018 season, repainted in Alpine colors. The Alpine Academy member can therefore accumulate kilometers in preparation for the super license!

It is not only the young Frenchman but the entire Alpine Academy that was on track at the legendary British circuit this Wednesday, May 26th. It is composed of a panel of promising youth including Victor Martins, Guanyu Zhou, Caio Collet, Christian Lundgaard, and Oscar Piastri. The latter actually reacted after his very first test day with an F1 at Silverstone in his career, saying this experience will be etched in his memory.
As far as #AlpineAcademy training goes, a day in the R.S.18 at Silverstone is pretty high up there.
