Styrian Grand Prix: Bottas satisfied with his 3rd place
The Finnish driver manages to climb onto the podium for the first time in 4 Grand Prix.
After managing to secure the second time in qualifying only to then receive a 3-place grid penalty following his spin in the pit lane, Valtteri Bottas achieved a solid third place finish at the Styrian Grand Prix.
In sharing his feelings about his race, Bottas explains: “This 3rd place is better than I could have hoped for. I managed to score points and limit the damage.”
An intense battle opposed him to Red Bull driver Sergio Perez in the final laps of the race but he nevertheless consolidated his position: “It was tight until the end with Perez. I am happy that we were able to defend the position.”
A performance that may seem to bode well for the future for the Finnish driver who is currently in 5th place in the championship with 74 points.
