The drivers analyze the fight for the title
As the title fight enters its final stretch between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, some of their competitors are giving their predictions.
Several drivers were questioned in a press conference about the current battle for the championship. Who will win the Grail, Lewis Hamilton or Max Verstappen? Opinions are divided.
Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) gives the advantage to the Red Bull driver.
« Max will probably finish in first place because there is a feeling that he has been faster than Lewis more often so far. Lewis is extremely consistent and always there when you least expect it, but my instinct tells me Max ».
Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) doubts Verstappen’s ability to remain calm in the face of the pressure imposed by the fight for the world title.
« I can’t answer for everyone but if something is important to you, it’s hard to stay cool and keep control. He’s young and has plenty of time ahead of him. I don’t think he has much to prove but in my opinion, you can’t always stay calm. »
Esteban Ocon, for his part, is counting on Hamilton’s experience and on Mercedes’ development to win.
« I would bet on Lewis, I agree that Max and his team have been, overall, a bit faster but I trust Mercedes to turn the situation around. »
Finally, Kimi Räikkönen replied in his own way, as always.
« The champion will be the one with the most points. I hope it will be decided on the track and not by a mechanical or external issue ».
