Turkish Grand Prix – Pérez: « Very happy to be on the podium »
After a somewhat vague start to the race, the Mexican finished on the podium today.
The Mexican driver spent most of the race behind the leaders. Obviously, the car was set up specifically for the changing weather conditions. After changing tires on a track that was already drying up, the car went faster and Perez was able to easily overtake Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari in the fight for the podium.
“It’s very nice to be back on the podium. The race was interesting in terms of strategy, especially regarding tire management. At the beginning, I had a very intense battle with Lewis and at the end with Charles. I’m happy that we scored good points for the team.”
Thanks to the Mexican, the team has earned big points and continues to fight with Mercedes for the constructors’ title.
