McLaren becomes the owner of Arrow SP
McLaren Racing, which wished to acquire 75% of Arrow SP's shares, has finally succeeded. It has become the majority shareholder of the American team.
The partnership between McLaren and Arrow SP, which started in August 2019, will continue. This was confirmed by the Woking team in a statement.
« The conclusion of the agreement means that McLaren Racing will become the majority shareholder of the team with a 75% stake and the integration of Arrow McLaren SP into the McLaren Racing organization. However, the financial terms of this agreement will not be disclosed.
The team will be led by five members forming a board of directors, three of whom come from McLaren Racing. Sam Schmidt (the founder of Arrow SP) and Ric Peterson are among its famous members, as well as Zak Brown who will be the president of this team.
The line-up for next season remains unchanged. Pato O’Ward, who will be eager to have an even more brilliant campaign than in 2021 (third in the championship), will be accompanied by Felix Rosenqvist.
The 2022 IndyCar season will start in Saint Petersburg on February 27.
