Räikkonen will be missed by Vettel
As Kimi Räikkönen will leave the world of Formula 1 definitively in less than two weeks, Sebastian Vettel admits that he will miss his former teammate a lot.
Since his arrival in Formula 1 (in 2007 in Indianapolis), Sebastian Vettel has always maintained a very friendly relationship with the one nicknamed Iceman.
The two former champions ended up driving together at Ferrari, from 2015 to 2018, and during these four seasons, they brought Ferrari to a very high level while proving that it was possible to maintain a friendship even while competing at the highest level.
Time has passed and Kimi Räikkönen is about to take a well-deserved retirement but his absence will leave a big void for Vettel.
« Is he going to be missed by us? Yes! » declared the German to the English site GP Fans.
« He is a real character and I enjoyed the time I spent with him as a teammate, but to be honest, I had already gotten to know him before. He is probably one of the very few drivers I have met from day one until now who has not changed in the sense that he has always been very open, he welcomed me very well when I arrived in Formula 1. At that time, he was probably the most established Formula 1 driver, or at least one of them. »
“I have great respect for Kimi. I don’t think you can have an argument or a problem with him. If you do, then the problem doesn’t come from him but from you. He’s a great person and I’m sure we will stay in touch, so I wish him all the best. I will miss his silence,” he symbolically concluded.
